When to see a dentist

Don't wait for pain. Regular checkups catch problems while they're small.

  • Get a checkup every 6 months even if nothing hurts. Small issues are cheaper and easier to fix.
  • Book soon if you have ongoing toothache, swelling, bleeding gums, or a cracked tooth.
  • Children should see a dentist by age one, or when their first tooth comes in.
  • White spots, dark stains, or new sensitivity are worth a visit before they get worse.
